CFI 3980 – Pre-Internship Workshop
Entrepreneurs-in-Training:
Just like any business should, we listen to our customers—you—and look for ways to improve our service and enhance your education. Accordingly, we discovered many of our students were uncertain about the steps they should take to find and enjoy a quality CFI Internship (CFI3980).
To solve this problem, we created a required workshop to help you better navigate the waters of finding a great internship and maximizing your experience in it. Beginning this Fall, all students seeking a Minor in Entrepreneurship, or doing an CFI Internship for their Individualized Degree Program (IDP), must attend this two-day pre-internship workshop.
With the assistance of Rhonda Eaker, Director of The Internship Center, the workshop will explain the responsibilities of the small business owner providing the internship, and provide the following information:
- how to write a bio and resume;
- how to research and approach a potential internship opportunity;
- how to present yourself in an interview, and;
- how to pitch your entrepreneurial aspirations and Metro State.
It’s easy to register. Just complete the Center for Innovation Internship Application Form and return it to CN 305 (make sure you meet all the criteria.)

Dates: Friday, October 28, 2011 and
Friday, November 4, 2011
Location: Central Classroom 225
Time: 12:00-3:00p.m. (Light lunch will be provided)

(You must attend both workshops before you will be approved for an internship. The workshops in the Fall are preparing you to find an internship for the Spring semester that will begin in January. We will be offering the workshops again this Spring—dates to be determined).
We know this might be inconvenient for some of you, but after considering a number of options, we felt this was the best immediate solution to our problem. In the future, we plan to provide these workshops online and will notify you of our progress in that area.
