Bret Turner
Bret Turner currently works for Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) where he concentrates on providing debt, both venture and conventional, for technology and life science companies. Many of the companies Bret deals with are start-up, venture backed clients with the need for additional runway as well as the business risk, revenue generating clients who are looking for working capital financing, growth term financing , or acquisition financing to run and grow their businesses.
Prior to SVB, Bret worked for Gaming Market Advisors as a Senior Analyst consulting gaming entities on Market Feasibility Studies, Gaming Market Assessments, Economic Impact Studies, Primary Research, Due Diligence, Payroll Control, Operations Analysis, Business and Marketing Plans, and Player Reward Programs. Clients in the gaming industry included Boyd Gaming, Harrah’s Entertainment, Pinnacle Entertainment, Imperial Palace, Nevada Gold, and Various Native American tribes in California and Louisiana.
As a gaming analyst at Sterne Agee and Leach, Bret covered and reported on many of the public gaming companies from small to large capitalization to large institutional buyers. In addition, he was involved in many of the secondary offerings of such companies as Isle of Capri, Pinnacle Entertainment, Century Casinos, Progressive Gaming, and Shuffle Master. Security certifications include Series 7, Series 86, and Series 87.
Bret has also worked as a financial analyst for a venture capital firm in New Orleans, Tchoupitoulas Partners, focusing on companies in the parking, transportation, gaming, healthcare, and shipping industries. Previous to this position, he was on the stock lending and prime brokerage desk at Credit Suisse First Boston in London covering the Scandinavian and Italian markets.
Bret holds a B.S in Marketing and a M.S in Corporate Finance from Louisiana State University.
