Rebecca Saltman

Rebecca Saltman has been working in public relations, cause marketing and collaboration-building for 20 years.  Often described by the communities she has served as an “agent of change”, Rebecca has a long history of accomplishments that include the turnaround of chaotic and struggling operations, the creation and launch of new educational and operational programs, and the expansion of mature, established business endeavors.

Her efforts in both the private and nonprofit sectors have exposed her to people and events that have become cultural milestones, and have spurred her to greater and greater collaborative activity.  Rebecca assembled and instructed teams tackling one of the world’s largest, and at that time unheard-of, collaborative efforts: recording Holocaust survivor testimonies for Steven Spielberg’s Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation.  Producing nearly 15,000 of the subsequent 65,000 testimonies recorded worldwide, she was a key participant in the opening of the New York Museum of Jewish Heritage: A Living Memorial to the Holocaust on September 11, 1997.

Rebecca worked as the Interim Executive Director for the Alliance for Sustainable Colorado. During her tenure focused on a partnership with Progress Now and the Daily Kos to develop and implement the BIG TENT, a Bloggers and New Media Headquarters at the 2008 Democratic Convention in Denver.  She funneled her expertise across many disciplines in helping democratize media, providing unprecedented access to over 500 bloggers.  The Tent became the linchpin for the DNC’s new media strategy, and has since been chosen for curation in the Smithsonian Institute and Newseum.

As the Denver Change Leader of Ashoka’s Change Your City initiative, Rebecca was key in shaping local and national strategy especially the pilot efforts in Denver. The City of Denver and Ashoka created Change Your City Denver, an initiative to establish Denver as the hub for social innovation in the United States.

Rebecca has proudly worked with hundreds of for- and non-profits and the businesses, agencies and academic institutions that support them.
