The Start Me Up Entrepreneurship Awards acknowledge and encourage excellence in Entrepreneurship at Metropolitan State University of Denver, focusing on students enrolled through the Center for Innovation (CFI).
Our program highlights students in three phases of business start-up: Idea, Feasibility and Implementation, mirroring the coursework the students are completing.
CFI faculty nominate their top performing students to the CFI Internal Board of Advisors for final selection. Instructors nominate a minimum of one student and a maximum of three students per semester for this prestigious award.
Based upon the award-winning students most pressing “need,” we align them with an entrepreneurial member of the community (“service provider”) who can best help the student to move their business idea forward.
The top award winning student also receives $1,000 to invest in their business.
The CFI program currently touches 50 out of 55 majors offered through Metro State, exemplifying the student interest in the curriculum.
